Rachel Bithell, Elementary Science
I am so excited to be returning for my second year as the elementary science teacher at Cloverleaf. I fell in love with science as a kid and hope my students will experience some of the moments of wonder that inspired me to pursue an education in physics. After finishing my master’s degree at the University of Michigan, I taught high school physics electives and math at a STEM school in Illinois.
My husband and I moved to Colorado just before our second child arrived, and I became a full-time, homeschooling parent. Our four oldest children were homeschooled from kindergarten through high-school graduation. During my years as a stay-at-home parent, I also tutored math and science and taught adults as a childbirth educator and then a foster parent trainer. My youngest two children are fourth graders this year, attending a neighborhood school in Castle Rock.
When I’m not at school, I love writing for kids and their caregivers. I have published several nonfiction books for kids as well as a middle grade novel that won the Colorado Book Award in juvenile fiction in 2024.
